ITAL (Pronounced eye-tal) Cuisine describes a conscious revolution in health & wellness that originated in the hills of 1930's Jamaica that emphasizes wellness through developing a reciprocal relationship with one's natural environment. ITAL specifically refers to the minimal use of salt, and a focus on balancing taste with traditional (Jamaican) herbs & spices such as Thyme, Pimento, Ginger, Jamaican Habanero (Scotch Bonnet) Pepper & the Coconut (Dread Nut) that can be readily harvested from the land. Sun Burger endeavors to be a sustainable company, & so as ITALIST we consciously use whenever possible, organic & local ingredients & seasonal items, green packaging and low carbon footprint materials. Our delicious food is 100% soy free, as well as 100% vegan.
Specialties
We specialize in handcrafted vegan burgers made with 100 percent whole foods, 100 percent plant based ingredients. We describe our cuisine as African-Caribbean fusion that focuses mostly the Caribbean, but highlights specifically Jamaican dishes & flavors. Best selling burgers like our Sun Chickpea burger with arugula, spicy sauteed onions, and house made burger sauce, or our Neptune beet burger with red leaf lettuce, pickled red onions, house made thyme & sage mayo. Along with burgers we have an extensive (food truck) menu of noms that include sandwiches, Bereber Sweet Potato fries, spicy mushroom wings, chic'n sandwiches and a weekly entree that we rotate.
