History
Rebecca's grew out of the owner's life-long love of treasure hunting. As a young girl, Rebecca and her mother spent many pleasant Saturday afternoons combing the old barns and back-road antiques shops of rural South Carolina. Rebecca has been an ardent collector and daring refabricator ever since. Our business was born in 1986 when the movie Crimes of the Heart began filming in Southport. When Rebecca visited the movie set to see whether there was any need for upholstery work or antique furniture, the art director's eyes popped open and he immediately began dictating a long list of items. In 1997, a retail fabric store was opened to support the busy workshop and Southport's many talented home decorators. In 2008 it became apparent that our customers needed a place where they could purchase and recycle furniture and other household items. Like Rebecca, Marsha and the rest of our staff are experienced and enthusiastic treasure hunters.
