The North Carolina Electric Membership Corporation consists of a family of corporations formed to support the state's 27 electric cooperatives. Together, these organizations serve more than 2.4 million North Carolinians and who live throughout 58 percent of the state's land area. NCEMC organizations are members of the National Rural Electric Cooperatives Association, the national service organization representing the cooperative electric utilities and their consumers. The North Carolina Electric Membership Corporation is located in Raleigh, N.C., and it employs approximately 160 people.
