The Montagnard Dega Association (MDA) is a non-profit organization based in Greensboro, NC, that was established in 1987 to serve Montagnard refugees when they first arrived in North Carolina. Over the past two decades, MDA has expanded its mission and added more programs to serve all refugees and immigrant community members based on available programs and funding. MDA offers a range of services, including cultural competency training, interpretation services, and various programs to support the community.
MDA's unique strengths lie in its Research Network and Community Advisory Council, which bring in outside experts guided by community members to advise and direct scholarly efforts that are vital to the Montagnard community. While COVID-19 has impacted the availability of emergency assistance for rent and utilities, MDA continues to provide valuable support and resources to the community.
