Established in 1968, Marvin B. Smith Elementary School is a part of the Alamance-Burlington School System. The school s parent-teacher association promotes welfare of children and youths in home, school and in the community. It operates a media center that stocks a variety of encyclopedias, picture dictionaries, storybooks and puzzles. Marvin B. Smith Elementary School enrolls approximately 500 students and employs more than 50 staff members. The school offers special classes in orchestra, art, music, physical education, and media and library skills to students in prekindergarten through fifth grade. Its academic curriculum also includes various subjects, such as English, math, science, social studies and language arts. Marvin B. Smith Elementary School is located in Burlington, N.C.
