Butch Human has over 40 years insurance experience and over 25 years specializing in equine related insurance. The Agency is staffed with horse people who own, ride, show, and care for their horses. We are horse people with insurance knowledge and experience. We understand your needs as horse owners , equine professionals and farm/ranch owners. Butch Human was the founder and former owner of Horse Insurance Specialists before selling it with the intention of retiring in 1997. Upon moving back to be near family in North Carolina, Butch and Lucinda opened Star H Equine Insurance in 2004. Butch is a retired US Marine Corps Colonel, and graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel HIll. Lucinda is a graduate of Hollins University.
