Central Elementary School
Central Elementary School is for students of kindergarten through grade five, and is located in Albemarle N.C. It offers students various performance incentive awards, including high honor roll, A-B honor roll, perfect attendance, citizenship, math, writing, and reading awards. It offers a reading program for students in grades four and five that includes reading materials, such as "Shiloh", "Strawberry Girl", "Hathcet", "Island of the Blue Dolphins", "Because of Winn-Dixie", "Number the Stars", "Dear Mr. Henshaw", "The View from Saturday", "Harriet the Spy", and "The Cabin Faced West". The program also includes "No More Dead Dogs", "The Bad Beginning", "The Sign of the Beaver", "Trumpet of the Swan", "The Magician's Nephew", "Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH", "Anne of Green Gablees", "The Westing Game", "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes", and "Frindle". The school also offers various extracurricular activities, and athletic programs and teams.
