The Family, Infant and Preschool Program is an early childhood and family support program. The program includes counseling related to pregnancy and child birth, as well as supports children up to the age of 8 and their families throughout western North Carolina. It serves children with autism, behavioral and genetic disorders, cerebral palsy, developmental delays and sensory modulation difficulties. The Family, Infant and Preschool Program offers medical and assistive technology supports. The program s research is conducted as part of the Center for the Advanced Study of Excellence in Early Childhood and Family Support Practices, which is an applied research institute. Its Center for Professional Development provides workshops, practicum experiences and coaching for early childhood professionals and family members. The program serves people throughout Alexander, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba and McDowell counties in western North Carolina. It is a program of the J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center. The Family, Infant and Preschool Program maintains its office in Morganton, N.C.
