Our Mission Statement East Coast Migrant Head Start Project is committed to preparing young children for educational success - especially the children of migrant and seasonal farm workers - by providing holistic, high quality early childhood services for families in a nurturing, culturally sensitive environment. East Coast Migrant Head Start Project (ECMHSP) establishes, provides and promotes continuity of Head Start services to migrant children and their families along the East Coast of the United States. Through enabling children to develop their full potential, parents are challenged to become more self-actualized by being involved with their own child's development and in decision making structures throughout ECMHSP. Ongoing program and fiscal monitoring and training and technical assistance assure the continual growth of quality child development services at the center level and the promotion of staff development activities on a regular basis. ECMHSP has been providing continuity of services to the children of migrant farm workers since 1974 on the east coast of the United States. At the present time, services to more than 4996 migrant infants, toddlers and preschoolers are provided in 92 centers in eleven states (Florida, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Virginia), by 12 delegate agencies and the ECMHSP Alabama, Florida and North Carolina Direct Service Operations. One of the delegate agencies, Telamon Corporation serves children in more than one geographic area. ECMHSP is located at: 2700 Wycliff Road, NC 27607 Raleigh Suite 302 Telephone 919-420-0334, Fax 919-783-8368.
