I completed a dual MD/PhD program at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, appeasing both my interests in medicine and research. While at Mayo, I spent time in the tumor-focused labs, and eventually completed my PhD thesis on glioblastoma stem cells. During my time at Mayo, I felt I had found my passion where both my research and clinical interests came together, and I felt that I could make a mark on the progress that was being made. I went on to complete my residency training in neurosurgery at Columbia University’s Neurological Institute of New York. I also completed a brain tumor fellowship at the University of Miami, with an emphasis on minimally-invasive open and endoscopic surgical treatments for brain tumors.
