I became a physician because it best combines my love of science with my desire to help people. Practicing in a community health center for many years taught me to listen intensely, to meet people where they are and to treat emotional health as a key part of well being. My approach to patient care is to focus on prevention, to use the latest proven medical advances, to minimize medication and to be a strong patient advocate within our complicated health care system. I enjoy working with people of all ages and all life circumstances to help them live their best lives. A fan of all things outdoors, you are most likely to find me running local trails on my downtime. When not outdoors, I love family dinners, coffee with friends, an intense game of Scrabble and documentary films that challenge the way I think.
