Clayton High School, located in Clayton, N.C., is part of the Johnston County School District. Founded in 1901, it offers a college preparatory curriculum to more than 1,400 students in grades nine through 12. Its courses include English, social studies, mathematics, science, physical and health education, humanities, computer science and a choice of more than 20 electives. Advanced placement courses are available for students who wish to earn college credit while in high school. Its facilities include math, science, computer and graphic arts labs and a library with an integrated media center. It has a school improvement team, comprising teacher, parents and students who develop new goals each year. Clayton High School offers various sports, including basketball, football and volleyball.
