My personal experiences of family members battling cancer inspired me to return to school for nursing. Oncology care has always had a special place in my heart. \n I aim to include the patient's family and support network in important healthcare discussions. I believe patient education and collaborative practice with the entire healthcare team fosters optimal care. \n I have been awarded the Hillman Alumni Innovation Fellowship in Pain and Palliative Care and am Advanced Practice End-of-Life Care Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC)-certified. In addition, I have served on the Editorial Review Board at the Columbia University Science Journal. \n My prior professional experience includes five years at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York and six years at Wilmington Health Hematology & Oncology. \n I'm a North Carolina transplant from New Jersey who enjoys running and going to the beach with my husband and daughters. Some of my guilty pleasures include chocolate chip cookies, reality television and fantasy football.
