HistoryIn the late 1970's, the eldest brother of 6 South Korean Martial Artists settled in Herndon, VA with the goal of introducing the Korean Art of Taekwondo. His foresight and expertise led him to develop one of the first highly successful Martial Arts schools in the United States and become known as a true pioneer in the Martial Arts world. In 1986, his brothers joined him and planted their roots across the Eastern US. This was the birth of the Lee Brothers dynasty. Today, many of the teachers who studied directly under the Lee Brothers operate schools of their own across the whole country. Grand Master Sang Ho Lee of Burlington, NC established his school in 1991 and has guided his students to open up successful schools in Greensboro, NC, Mebane, NC, and Turlock, CA.SpecialtiesThe life-changing art of Taekwondo teaches respect, self-control, perseverance, and safety awareness. Through engaging and motivating instruction, we inspire character development while teaching self-defense, fitness, gymnastic movement and wellness in a safe and controlled environment. Students learn how to work well with others by developing communication skills and a teamwork mentality. Our structured approach encourages children to set goals and understand the relationship between focus and success, and failure and progress. The lessons obtained through our program are designed to positively affect every area of development; from attentiveness at school, etiquette in public, respect at home, and courage throughout life.
