I chose to become a dietitian as I was a competitive distance runner in high school and college and saw the interaction between good nutrition and enhanced performance. In addition to the competitive athlete, I also noted how nutrition affected persons with recreational sports. My philosophy on patient care is patient-directed. Patients need to share their goals, so they buy into their nutritional plan of care to achieve success. A customized patient care plan is what I aim to achieve in practice. Outside of being at work, I am an exercise enthusiast. I love to run-- distances for both mental and physical release. I enjoy weightlifting, love walking and especially, long walks with my dogs. I love to travel and really enjoy reading various books with girlfriends in book club.
