Operational since 1980, Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care organize a camp for children, an annual one-day camp for youngsters, between the ages of 6 and 12. The camp includes developing a theme and utilizing storytelling, crafts and a balloon release to help the children deal with the loss of their loved ones. The camp also provides lunch to the children. Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care has patient and family volunteers that offer various home care services, such as assistance with personal hygiene and routine activities. Additionally, it also provides hospice services at various hospitals, including the Caldwell Memorial Hospital, the Frye Regional Medical Center, the Valdese General Hospital, the Grace Hospital and the Catawba Valley Medical Center in North Carolina. Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care also have partnerships with various long-term care facilities. The organization is located in Lenoir, N.C.
