Abri Veterinary Hospital offers a broad range of professional services. We have an in-house lab that runs CBC's, General Chemistry Profiles, Electrolyte Panels, T4 and cortisol . We also do in-house fecal floatations, heartworm checks (antigen), Felv(antigen) FIV (antibody) tests, Parvo tests, and Canine Ovulation Timing tests. All of these tests with the exception of the T4 and cortisol are run while you wait. This allows us a more accurate diagnosis of your pet's condition so that specific treatment can begin immediately. We also have an in-house radiology section. We do plain films, barium contrast studies, air contrast studies and urinary tract contrast studies. We provide a broad range of surgical procedures. We do the standard spays, neuters and declaws. In addition, we do bone pining and plating for fractured bones. We do soft tissue surgery such as tumor removals, malignant splenectomies, urinary tract surgery to remove calculi, urethrostomies, ear canal resections for chronic, non-responsive ear disease. We refer disc surgery of the neck and back and intra-ocular surgeries to a specialty practice that is located about 20 miles away. We currently use isoflurane inhalation anesthesia for the majority of our surgical procedures. Your pets vital signs can be monitored with a pulse-ox machine. In addition, we have a doppler blood pressure unit to measure blood pressure; especially important in cats with renal disease. We have an EKG machine to assess cardiac disease. We also have access to Cardio-pet, a telephone based system that allows instant access to a cardiac specialist if needed with the EKG being transmitted via the telephone. A tonopen allows us to evaluate your pet's eyes for glaucoma - a disease that needs early diagnosis and treatment.
