Dr. Z. Malik is board certified in Hematology, Oncology and Internal Medicine. Dr. Malik received his BA in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Cornell University where he was awarded a research grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. After graduating from college, Dr. Malik received a grant from the Medical Scientist Training Program and enrolled at the University of Iowa where he was conferred an MD degree and a PhD in immunology. After medical school, Dr. Malik completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas, Southwestern. For his Hematology and Oncology fellowship, Dr. Malik trained at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. After completing his training in 2007, Dr. Malik relocated to Louisville, Kentucky to join the Norton Cancer Institute. He was at the Norton Cancer Institute for 10 years and focused on a wide variety of benign and malignant hematological conditions, as well as solid tumors. He was also actively involved in clinical trials in lung cancer, gastrointestinal cancers and lymphomas.
