The YMCA of Greater New York is a community service organization that promotes positive values through a variety of youth programs. It offers child care, after-school and leadership programs. The organization also provides instructional classes, computer training and health awareness seminars, as well as conducts day camps. The YMCA of Greater New York operates the SilverSneakers program, an exercise program that YMCA's across the United States offer. Its sports programs include soccer, flag football, softball, baseball, basketball, tennis, karate and gymnastics. The organization additionally operates New Americans Welcome Centers, which serve as multilingual information resource and referral centers and provide immigrant families with an array of instructional, vocational and recreational services. The YMCA of Greater New York maintains a presence in New York City.
