Waterworks is Albanys premier Gay Local Pub and Dance Club, located at the start of Albanys gay village. Waterworks is the oldest gay-oriented community bar in Albany where our motto is Unity. Established in 1983, Waterworks is located in a historic multi-level building that enables us to offer something for everyone. The Pub, located on the first floor offers a hometown corner Bar atmosphere with a Pool table, Dart boards, Video games, Table & Booth seating, a bunch of televisions & a projection TV, Online Jukebox, and a professional sound system and stage. The Club, located on the second floor, is one of the hottest and busiest spots in town. With a separate bar & smoking patio, pumping out more than 10, 000 watts of pure energy from our high-quality professional sound system, along with dozens of modern dance lights and a professional laser system, Waterworks Club offers an experience rarely found in upstate New York. Originally built in the early twentieth century, 76 Central Avenue s history is as diverse as its clientele. From an Industrial age slaughterhouse through a delicatessen, restaurant and show bar, 76 Central Ave changed as the city of Albany grew, before becoming what it is today, Albany' s Best gay bar.
