BC Voices Inc is a New York-based non-profit organization that aims to collect, preserve, and share the stories of women who came of age during the late 1960s and early 1970s, and have since experienced the transformative effects of the second wave of feminism. Founded by members of the class of 1971 of Barnard College, BC Voices focuses on documenting the experiences of women during a time of significant social change, highlighting the progress made in women's rights while acknowledging the remaining barriers. Through their online docuseries and documentary shorts, BC Voices aims to inspire viewers to learn from history and protect women's fundamental rights. With a rich oral history collection housed in the Barnard Archives and Special Collections, BC Voices has been actively producing documentary shorts based on the life stories of the Barnard Class of 1971 since 2012. Their current project, "Stand UP, Speak OUT: The Personal Politics of Women's Rights," is an online docuseries that explores the radical transformation in women's lives empowered by the expansion of women's rights in the mid-20th century.
