Established in 1880, the Visiting Nurses Association of Albany, Saratoga & Rensselaer is a certified nonprofit home health agency and governed by community members. Located in Albany, N.Y., it provides nurses, health aides and rehabilitation services to residents of Albany, Saratoga and Rensselaer counties in New York. Additionally, the association offers diabetes educators, lactation specialist, enterostomal therapist, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, respiratory therapists and clinical nurse specialists. Its services and programs include cardiopulmonary care; case management; community mental health; diabetes care; geriatric alcohol program; hospital to home-care coordination; maternal and child health; and oncology care. The association also offers several community services, including adult influenza and pneumonia vaccine clinics, blood pressure screenings and community health promotion events. The Visiting Nurses Association of Albany, Saratoga & Rensselaer is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and licensed by the New York State Department of Health.
