Vacation Camp for the Blind is a residential rehabilitation and training center that serves more than 600 visually impaired people. It organizes programs and activities, such as swimming, boating, arts and crafts, outdoor and indoor sports, computer classes, Braille lessons, discussions, drama, music and dance. The center also provides orientation, mobility, vision rehabilitation training and educational services for independent adults, blind children and families. Vacation Camp for the Blind recruits professionals and college and graduate students who specialize in the areas of special education, therapeutic recreation, social work and psychology. The center is operated by VISIONS/Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired, which is a nonprofit rehabilitation and social service organization that offers various programs for the physical and emotional development of blind people.
