The New Castle Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency that promotes public safety, identifies and solves criminal cases and safeguards citizens rights. The department s record division is responsible for the processing and filing of paperwork generated by the police department and outside agencies. It maintains a crime prevention unit that conducts meetings to discuss crime prevention techniques; presents demonstrations; and hosts community events that promote partnership between the community and police. The department maintains a team of youth officer that provides education regarding drug abuse prevention, bicycle safety, child abduction and criminal law.
