One of the oldest providers of higher education in the United States, University at Albany has been operational for more than 100 years. Located in Albany, N.Y., it has been a designated center of the State University of New York since 1962. The university enrolls more than 5,000 full- and part-time students annually, and employs over 1,000 faculty members. In addition to bachelor s, master s and doctoral degrees, it provides various special programs, including alliance for graduate education in the professoriate, honors college, international education and study abroad modules, online and long-distance learning, presidential scholarships, project renaissance, transfer agreement and planning, and university in the high school programs. UA s libraries house more than 2 million volumes, and offers a wide variety of services, such as alumni support, circulation services, e-reserves, geographical information systems solutions, group study rooms, instruction and tutorials, interactive media center, interlibrary loans, library services for persons with disabilities, and storage facilities.
