Established in 1991, the United Activities Unlimited PS18 Beacon Center provides family preventive services and a teen program funded by the Pinkerton Foundation. The school-based centers offers various programs in sewing, swimming, weight training and aerobics to more than 3,000 children. It also provides several sports programs in basketball, softball, golf and floor hockey. The United Activities Unlimited PS18 Beacon Center organizes a camp for children between the ages of 5 and 12. The center hosts several trips to theaters and the Library Science Center in New York. It additionally offers General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and English as a Second Language program. The United Activities Unlimited PS18 Beacon Center has a presence in Staten Island, N.Y.
