History
We have owned our small boxing, martial arts and fitness studio in Lower Manhattan since 1994. Often considered a best kept secret of the downtown community, our unique atmosphere is part dojo, part boxing gym, and part temple. We tend to attract outside-the-box independent thinkers like us who are looking for something a little different from the usual boxing or kickboxing class. We mainly do one-on-one training and our classes are very small so you always get individualized attention. All ages, all levels of fitness are welcome. We focus on teaching you real and practical techniques and take the time to demonstrate and explain when, how and why they are used, instead of just having you go through the motions. We are passionate about teaching and want you to truly understand every aspect of the fighting arts. Interested? Call and ask us about a free trial class, no strings attached! We also accept Venmo.
Specialties
Personal training, boxing, kickboxing, Brazilian jiu jitsu, bboy training. Our specialty has always been one-on-one training and small semi-private group classes. A plus now in this age of social distancing, we can offer you a private space for your workout by appointment. We are fighters and survivors. We barely made it through 9/11, it took years to recover. We made it through the recession of 2008, and then Hurricane Sandy. Somehow, through hard work, sheer will, determination, a little luck and our amazing loyal clients, we survived it all. This past May, we quietly celebrated our 26th anniversary in business, a bittersweet landmark in the midst of COVID-19. We know it could be the end of an amazing journey with the shutdown still in effect and money to pay for rent and other expenses quickly running out. We always knew our gym story would eventually have to come to an end, we just never expected it to be now, and not like this. So now we need your help. We need people to come back, come in and try us out once they give everyone the go ahead. This is the only way we will have a fighting chance to make a comeback one more time.
