HistorySteven Daniels worked for his father's tree service, studied to become an arborist and opened Steven Daniel's Tree Service in 1981. To better utilize valuable lumber and service his customers he added a portable sawmill to the business in 1995. In 2005 he and Teresa Eddy moved their business to the Albany area, just north of Chatham. Teresa oversees the landscape design & installation and manages the office. Allen operates the mill and assists where needed. The Gallery @ Capital Sawmill opened in June 2012, selling Steven's custom furniture, mantels and bar tops along with unique gifts and custom creations by local artists. Handmade furniture, pottery, jewelry of sterling silver, stones, fossils, copper & beads, hand-made soaps and creams, dolls, candles jars and pillars, primitive decor, blown and stained glass, paintings, carvings and wood turned bowls.
