The town of Eastchester, settled in 1664, was bought from Native Americans in 1700. Today it includes the incorporated villages of Bronxville and Tuckahoe. Eastchester consists of 3.26 square miles and is about 20 miles north of New York City; it's run by a town supervisor and a five-member town board. The town hall houses several offices, including those of the comptroller, town clerk and police department.
