Tony s Fish Market began as a retail-only establishment in 1948. It has since grown into much more. To meet the food service needs of area hospitals, Tony's began its lucrative wholesale business. The company now has a catalogue with more than 1,500 different items. It takes 20 telephone lines and a full-time sales staff of eight just to handle the daily orders that come in. Tony's is working on geographic expansion plans that will take it to locations like Atlantic City, N.J., Delaware and Hartford, Conn. The company s growing service team has more than 80 people.
