Thomas Jefferson High School, located in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, was established in 1922 and has played a significant role in the education of many notable individuals. However, due to the decline of the neighborhood and school in the 1990s, the school underwent restructuring and four new small schools were opened within the building in 2004.
The school's rich history includes famous alumni such as actors Danny Kaye, Shelley Winters, and Jimmy Smits. Additionally, the school once housed a M.P. M ller organ, which was installed in 1926 but unfortunately removed and discarded in the 1990s.
