Christ Episcopal Church
The Christ Episcopal Church first took root in 1836 with retired book-seller and devout Episcopalian Nathaniel Holmes. Today, the church is a vibrant community situated in the heart of Tarrytown. The congregation meets in an ivy-covered red brick building which was built in 1837. The church is renowned for its dramatic architecture, stained glass windows and pipe organ. In 1993, the church marked the beginning of the San Marcos Mission, a program that holds services in Spanish. Christ Episcopal Church offers nursery care, youth services and hosts a popular chili cook-off each year. Susan Copley is the rector at the church.
