The Black Scholars Community Partnership Initiative is a coalition of 21 Westchester County-based African-American organizations dedicated to promoting, supporting, and rewarding academic excellence among African-American students. For over three decades, they have worked tirelessly to dispel negative stereotypes and honor the achievements of high school seniors who have maintained honor roll credentials throughout their high school years.
Through their cooperative efforts with 28 high schools, principals, and guidance counselors, the Partnership annually recognizes over 400 deserving students, offering them scholarships, book awards, and essay contest prizes to help them prepare for college. Additionally, they acknowledge teachers who have played a significant role in the academic and personal development of these students, culminating in the prestigious Teacher of the Year Award presented at their annual Black Scholars Recognition Reception.
