Summer campers practice setting up tents and other outdoor skills.

The trails are scenic, with a variety of difficulty levels, covering field, forest, and pond habitats.

Pavilion is open for picnickers, hikers, and more.

The Lodge can be rented for events with less than 100 guests. Up to 35 can be seated in each of the side wings, 30 in the middle section.

School and group programs include an animal presentation, so students/visitors can observe species closely and learn to respect animals.

Sophie, a Great Horned Owl, was injured as a young bird and cannot be returned to the wild. Now, she does educational programs at Tanglewood

Nine miles of scenic trails in the Finger Lakes area that begin at the Nature Center allow you to experience the natural beauty of the Chemung Valley first-hand. We offer hiking year-round and winter activities including snowshoe rentals and GPS rentals. Our 12,000 square foot building features a museum with 43 species of live animals. Our trails are open 365 days/year dawn to dusk. Our museum is open Tuesday-Saturday from 9-5 (May-October) or 9-4 (November-April). Admission is free but donations are appreciated.

Tanglewood is a great place to visit nature, go for a hike, and see some very cool animals. The staff are super friendly and helpful.
