For over 20 years, the SPCA has been enforcing animal cruelty laws in Suffolk County. The non-progit organization seeks to promote the welfare of all animals and alleviate the pain and suffering of abused, neglected or abandoned animals. The SPCA also provides humane education in Suffolk County classrooms as well as the following services: spay/neutering programs, a ferral cat program, rabies vaccination clinics, adoption clinics. The Suffolk County SPCA is one of only five organizations in the country with a mobile veterinarian clinic vehicle, a donation from the Suffolk County legislature.
