The Office of Minority Health (OMH) was formed in 2005 with the goal of eliminating health care disparities for minorities. The Center for Disease Control in Atlanta has recognized six areas of health care disparity: cancer, diabetes, immunizations, infant mortality, heart disease/stroke and HIV/AIDs. Minority Health attempts to educate and provide better health care access to African Americans/blacks, Hispanics, Latinos, Asians, Native Americans and Pacific Islanders. It sponsored events such as health cares and educational seminars.
