Steven Lee, M.D. is the Chief of Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC, and the Associate Director of the Nicholas Institute of Sports Medicine and Athletic Trauma (NISMAT), the first hospital-based facility dedicated to the study of sports medicine and research in the country. Dr. Lee is recognized as one of New York Magazine's Best Doctors, Castle Connolly's Top Doctors in Orthopaedic Surgery, America's Top Orthopedists, and New York Super Doctors. Dr. Lee is a board certified, double fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of the most complex disorders of the hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, knee and foot/ankle. He received his M.D. through a highly competitive 6-year accelerated college/medical school program at Lehigh University and the Medical College of Pennsylvania. He completed his orthopaedic residency at Stony Brook University Hospital, his hand and upper extremity fellowship at NYU-Hospital for Joint Diseases, and then a second fellowship in sports medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital, the oldest and one of the most prestigious sports medicine fellowships in the country. During his training, he participated in the care of the New York Jets, Islanders, Rangers and Hofstra University Athletics. Dr. Lee has served as the team physician for the New Jersey Red Dogs and Gladiators Professional Arena Football teams, and for Hofstra University Athletic teams.
