The Southampton Fire District was created by legislative action by the Southampton Town Board in 2003. The Fire District covers approximately 16 square miles and is comprised of the hamlets of Water Mill, Tuckahoe, Shinnecock Hills and Hampton Park. The Southampton Fire District is overseen by five Commissioners whose job is to ensure that adequate fire protection services are provided to the residents of the District at a reasonable cost.The district holds monthly meetings on the second Thursday of every month at the Tuckahoe School located at 468 Magee Street, NY 11968 Southampton The next Board of Commissioners meeting will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 7: 30pm at Tuckahoe School located at 468 Magee Street Southampton11968

Waterford Station 3, Goshen Fire Department

The Goshen Fire Company is one of five fire companies in Waterford, and the only to have a full-sized rescue boat. One paid firefighter mans the firehouse every weekday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with part-time paid firefighters working various times on the weekend. At all other times, on-call volunteers respond to calls. The fire company is always looking for volunteers, and anybody interested should call the department.

Quaker Hill Fire Company

Quaker Hill Fire Company is one of five fire companies in Waterford and serves the Quaker Hill region of town. One paid full-time firefighter mans the station from 7am to 5pm on weekdays, with part-time paid firefighters working various shifts on the weekend. At all other times, on-call volunteers respond to all calls. The Quaker Hill Fire Company has a small Boston Whaler for water calls, though generally the Goshen Fire Company and its full-sized rescue boat responds to water emergencies.

Middlefield Park & Recreation

The Health Department is located in the Community Center and is responsible for protecting and alerting residents of health-related hazards. The department inspects restaurants to ensure health codes are being followed, and investigates possible health violations, including water testing, lead paint and other complaints. The department also requires permits for new construction, including septic, pools, wells and additions.
