Shalhevet is the sibling school of Rambam Mesivta, the high school yeshiva for boys. Shalhevet strives to teach its students an appreciation and love for the learning of the Torah and to be good and modest Jews. Its goal is for the students to become leaders.
The school says it has a merit-based admission policy, granting entry to those who it says would benefit most from the program. Its students hail from Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island. Shalhevet prides itself on being a small school by design. The head of the school is Rabbi Zev Meir Friedman and its principal is Esther Eisenman.
