The New York Mills Fire Department provides fire suppression and rescue services to the village New York Mills, N.Y., as well as to parts of the towns of New Hartford and Whitestown, N.Y. The department provides mitigation of and recovery from a variety of conditions that adversely threaten the safety of the public. The department s primary operations consist of confining and extinguishing various types of fires. As an extension of the department s rescue services, it also provides pre-hospital, emergency medical care. In addition, it controls spills and incidents involving hazardous materials and participates in campaigns for community awareness regarding fire safety. The New York Mills Fire Department operates through the use of several engine and rescue companies and a truck company.
