The American Legion is the largest service organization in the United States for veterans. It is a not-for profit and nonpartisan organization that has been in existence since the end of World War One. It is also very well known for the numerous youth programs it supports including the American Legion baseball program, around since 1925. The American Legion also works hard in its promotion of patriotism and national security. It numbers over three million members throughout the world. There are over 15,000 American Legion posts worldwide and the national headquarters is located in Indianapolis, Indiana. The American Legion Post 1066 maintains a Veteran's Memorial Garden.
