Richmond Children's Foundation, based in Yonkers, N.Y., provides resources that supplement the programs and services that make a significant difference in the lives of children and young adults with developmental disabilities and complex medical needs. It provides specialized homes, therapeutic programs, family assistance, respite and vocational and other adult programs. Its intermediate care facility offers living with a family of friends, individualized planning by its multidisciplinary team to meet special needs, educational programs in the community, access to medical and clinical facilities, respite care and participation in many community activities, including concerts, overnight camping, movies, adapted skiing, swimming, dances and sports events. It also provides community-based group homes for individuals with developmental needs who benefit from help, support and supervision. Richmond Children's Foundation promotes many types of public participation, including fundraising, special events and advertising journals.
