History
Rice Furniture was established in 1946 by George Carver Rice who came to the area in the early 40's as a mattress salesman. The store which remains in its original location is one of the oldest and most well established businesses in the Adirondacks. It was taken over in the 1960's by Carver's son Bob and is currently owned and operated by his daughters Barbara and Suzanne and their husbands Chad McCarthy and Clyde Baker. For three generations Rice Furniture has provided exceptional customer service to the Tri-Lakes region and beyond. Although the business has grown and adapted to the times, the one thing that has not changed is their commitment to exceptional customer service and quality products at fair prices. The owners of Rice Furniture realize that their success is due in a large part to the dedication and loyalty of their employees as well as the support the Adirondack community has shown them over the generations.
