PS 233 at Metropolitan Campus is a program for students in District 75 in Queens. The aim is to create a school that helps students with special learning needs, preparing them for life after graduation.
Under the stewardship of principal Debbie Edmonds, the school serves students from ages 11-21. The curriculum, according to the PS 233 itself, focuses on "service learning" while also taking time to address core subjects including English, math, social studies and the sciences.
As well, the school gives older students an opportunity to practice what they've learned in the classroom in real-world scenarios in school and in the private sector.
