Since 1920, this sandy Hudson peninsula across the Philipse Manor train station has been home to a private beach and boat club catering to the adjacent community. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, members enjoy a swimming area with regular lifeguarded hours, water that is tested daily for cleanliness, a changing area and picnic tables. While there is currently a five-year wait list for a coveted boat slip, the beach club annually accepts new members who live in Philipse Manor (with a short wait list for non-Manor residents).
