HistoryHanes Supply got started in May of 1930 in Buffalo, NY when our founder Theodore C. Hanes learned how to splice wire rope from a friend to obtain his Aircraft Mechanics License. He soon learned that splicing wire rope provided good income on the table for his family. Since then, we have opened several locations throughout New York State, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and North Carolina. Ted's son, Bill, would later take over as the President of the company in 1980.
