Located at the intersection of Osborn Road and Boston Post Road, Osborn Elementary School was established in 1957 as one of three elementary schools in Rye, serving kindergarten through fifth grade. It is a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, nationally recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
The school's campus sits on three acres of land surrounded by playgrounds and playing fields. The current enrollment is approximately 600 students with a 70-person full and part-time faculty. The average class size is 19 students. The building includes an auditorium, multipurpose room, computer lab, library and 40 classrooms.
