The Northeastern Association of the Blind at Albany, also known as NABA, is a private, nonprofit organization that serves individuals with visual impairments. Established in 1908, it offers vision screening services and job training classes. The association works with individuals to develop independent living skills and techniques, such as household management, meal preparation and personal care. The Northeastern Association of the Blind at Albany serves throughout the greater Capital region to the residents of Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie and Washington counties in New York. It conducts several fundraising events. The association provides vision screening services for children up to the age of 4 through its KidSight Program. It offers lessons that focus on the use of public transportation and cane skills. The Northeastern Association of the Blind at Albany operates a manufacturing department that offers traffic safety vests and snack kits. Its customers include the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army.
