The New York State Society Of Certified Public Accountants, located in New York City, is an accounting organization. It has more than 25,000 members throughout the United States and was incorporated in 1897. It cultivates, promotes and disseminates knowledge and information concerning certified public accountants. The society fulfills its mission through its various chapters and more than 50 technical and administrative committees. The certified public accountants of the state of New York and any other state and political subdivision of the United States are eligible to become a member of the society. Its chapters provide programs and activities to members on a local basis. Its members are assigned to any chapters based on the location of their business and residence. The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants operates various divisions that include accounting and auditing, consulting services, industries, operations and tax divisions.
