The 45th Precinct, a part of the New York Police Department, intervenes in cases of theft, robbery, serious assault, sexual crime, child abuse, narcotics trafficking and domestic violence in New York. The 45th Precinct area is comprised of more than six miles of park area and over 10 miles of waterfront. It provides security services to various residential and commercial areas, shopping centers and movie complexes. The 45th Precinct also provides protection to Coop City in New York, which is one of the largest residential areas in the United States. The precinct offers services to more than 33,000 people and more than 35 multistory apartment buildings, town houses, schools, parking garages and shopping centers. The 45th Precinct is located in Bronx, N.Y.
